  1. Prepare the Sausages and Vegetables
    1. Slice the smoked sausage into thin pieces.
    2. Chop the medium-sized onion and green onions (if using).
    3. Chop the red pepper into small pieces.
  2. Cook the Sausages and Vegetables
    1. In a large pan, fry the sliced sausage until slightly crispy.
    2. Add the chopped onions (both regular and green onions) to the pan and cook together for a few minutes until the onions soften.
    3. Add the chopped red pepper and continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes until the vegetables gain some color.
  3. Add Rice and Tomato Juice
    1. Add the well-washed rice to the pan and stir for a few minutes to combine with the sausage and vegetables.
    2. Pour in the cup of tomato juice and cook for another 2 minutes, allowing the rice to absorb the flavors.
  4. Add Chicken Soup and Seasonings
    1. Add a bay leaf to the pan.
    2. Gradually pour in the chicken soup, using the same can you measured the rice with. You’ll need about 4 cans of chicken soup or enough liquid to cover the rice.
    3. Season with salt to taste and cover the pan with a lid.
    4. Cook over medium heat until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender (about 20-30 minutes).

    1. Once the rice is cooked and the liquid is absorbed, grate 50 grams of Parmesan cheese and stir it into the pilaf for extra creaminess.
    2. Garnish with fresh chopped dill.
