In a well-heated pan, caramelize the sugar until it reaches a dark golden color. Be careful not to burn it.

Add cold water and turn off the heat. Let it cool until the syrup forms.

Pour the lukewarm syrup into a large bowl, add the vanilla essence, oil, orange zest, baking powder, salt, and mix well.

Gradually incorporate the sifted flour and cocoa. Try not to overmix.

Pour the mixture into a baking tray lined with parchment paper. You can sprinkle chopped nuts on top if desired.

Place the tray in the preheated oven at 160 degrees Celsius for 25-30 minutes or until the toothpick test comes out clean.
