  1. Prepare the base:
      • In a large pot, heat the Kaiser or oil over medium heat.
      • Fry the Kaiser slices until they get a little color, then remove and set aside.
  2. Cook the beef:
      • Add the beef to the pot and brown it.
      • Once the meat changes color, add the chopped onions and garlic.
      • Sauté with the lid on for about 5 minutes.
  3. Simmer the meat:
      • Add bay leaves, salt, pepper, and a cup of water.
      • Reduce heat to low and simmer covered for about 1 hour, adding more water if necessary.
  4. Add vegetables:
      • After the meat is tender, remove bay leaves.
      • Add chopped bell peppers, carrot, tomatoes, potatoes, chili powder, and paprika.
      • Pour in enough water to cover the vegetables.
  5. Final cooking:
      • Simmer everything together for about 40 minutes until potatoes and vegetables are cooked through.
