Prepare the Dough:
- In a large mixing bowl, add warm water, yeast, and sugar. Stir well and let it activate for 5 minutes.
- Add flour, salt, and softened butter.
- Mix until a dough forms, then transfer to a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes, until smooth and non-sticky.
- Grease the bowl with a little oil, place the dough back in, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise for 1 hour in a warm place.

Prepare the Sausages:
- While the dough rises, prepare your sausages (cremvuști). Pat them dry if needed and set aside.

Assemble the Pretzel Dogs:
- Once the dough has doubled in size, lightly flour your work surface and roll out the dough into a square.
- Cut into strips (wide enough to wrap around the sausages).
- Take each strip and wrap it spirally around a sausage.

Final Rise:
- Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- Place the wrapped sausages (covridogi) on the tray and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

Egg Wash & Topping:
- In a small bowl, mix the egg yolk with the milk.
- Brush each pretzel dog with this mixture.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds on top if desired.

- Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).
- Bake the pretzel dogs for about 25 minutes or until golden brown.
Best served warm, with mustard, ketchup, or your favorite dipping sauce.
