Instructions
-
Prepare the Base Dough:
-
- In a large bowl, beat the 5 eggs with a pinch of salt until foamy.
- Add vanilla essence, 12 tablespoons of oil, and lemon flavoring.
- Gradually mix in about 20 tablespoons of flour and 1 teaspoon baking powder.
- Add more flour if necessary — the dough should be soft and non-sticky.
- Stir in 3 tablespoons of powdered sugar (adjust to taste).
-
-
Divide and Flavor the Dough:
-
- Split the dough into two equal parts.
- Wrap one half in foil and set it aside (this is the vanilla dough).
- To the second half, add 2 tablespoons cocoa powder and 2 tablespoons oil.
- Knead until fully incorporated. If the dough feels too firm, add an additional tablespoon of oil.
-
-
Shape the Dough:
-
- Divide the vanilla dough into 8 equal pieces and roll each into a stick using your palms — not too thick, not too thin.
- Repeat the same with the cocoa dough to get 8 cocoa sticks.
-
-
Assemble the Swirls:
-
- Take one vanilla and one cocoa stick, flatten each slightly, then layer them on top of each other.
- Repeat with all the sticks.
- Roll the stacked dough layers into a log (like a salami) to create a spiral effect.
-
-
Bake:
-
- Slice the log into cookie-sized pieces and place them on a baking tray.
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F).
- Bake for 20 minutes, or until lightly golden.
Let the cookies cool before serving. They're perfect for coffee time or as a fun treat for kids! -
