  1. Prepare the Dough
    1. In a large bowl, mix margarine and brown sugar until well combined.
    2. Add vanilla essence, water, and baking powder, then continue mixing until the sugar dissolves.
    3. Gradually incorporate the flour in two rounds, mixing until a soft dough forms.
    4. Place the dough in a plastic bag and refrigerate for about 10 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Filling & Base
    1. While the dough chills, finely chop the dough stick or nuts for added texture.
    2. After chilling, divide the dough into four pieces, setting one quarter aside for decoration.
    3. In a greased baking tray, break apart the remaining dough and press it down evenly with your fingers.
    4. Spread baking jam over the dough, ensuring an even layer.
  3. Decorate & Bake
    1. Sprinkle chopped dough stick/nuts over the jam layer.
    2. Take the reserved dough, break it into small pieces, and scatter them on top for decoration.
    3. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 50 minutes, or until golden brown.
