Juicy chicken wings cooked until golden, then simmered with apple, onion and Coca-Cola to create a rich, sweet and savoury glaze. Serve with crispy fried potatoes and your favourite dipping sauce for a restaurant-style meal at home.
Clean the chicken wings and remove any remaining feathers.
Rinse briefly with cold water if needed, then pat dry thoroughly with kitchen paper.
Cut the wings in half at the joint, if desired.
Place the wings in a large bowl.
Add salt, black pepper and crushed garlic.
Drizzle with 2–3 tablespoons of olive oil.
Mix well with your hands until all the wings are evenly coated.
Heat sunflower oil in a large frying pan.
Add the chicken wings and fry for a few minutes on each side until nicely golden.
Chop the apple and onion into small pieces.
Add them to the pan with the browned chicken wings.
Cover with a lid and cook for 5–10 minutes, allowing the apple and onion to soften.
Pour the Coca-Cola into the pan.
Sprinkle in a little sweet paprika for colour.
Simmer until the chicken is completely cooked through and the liquid reduces into a glossy, sticky sauce. Stir occasionally to prevent the sauce from burning.
