Instructions

  1. Activate the Yeast:
    • In a large bowl, combine:
      • 100 ml warm milk
      • 1 tablespoon sugar
      • 5 g dry yeast
      • 2–3 tablespoons flour
    • Mix well and let sit at room temperature for 10 minutes to activate.
  2. Make the Dough:
    • Add to the activated yeast:
      • 100 ml melted butter
      • 100 g yogurt
      • 450 g flour
      • ½ teaspoon salt
    • Mix with a spatula.
    • Add 1 whole egg + 1 egg white and continue mixing until a dough forms.
    • Knead until dough becomes soft and no longer sticky.
    • Cover with plastic wrap and a towel. Let rise for 1 hour.
  3. Prepare the Filling:
    • In a bowl, combine:
      • 150 g feta (crumbled)
      • 100 g cream cheese
      • 50 g grated mozzarella
      • 5 slices ham (cubed)
    • Mix until well combined.
  4. Shape the Buns:
    • Divide risen dough into 8 equal parts.
    • Grease an oven-safe pan with 1 tbsp oil.
    • Flatten each dough piece into a small circle with your fingers.
    • Place 1/8 of the filling in the center.
    • Seal the dough tightly around the filling and place sealed-side-down in the tray.
  5. Second Rise & Bake:
    • Let buns rise again for 15 minutes.
    • Brush with the reserved egg yolk.
    • Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for 40–45 minutes until golden.
    Serve warm for maximum cheesiness and fluffiness!
