Foietaj cu Fructe (Puff Pastry with Fruit)
Ingredients
1
handful of walnuts (grated and finely chopped)
Fruits (such as plums and peaches, or any fruit of your choice)
1
sheet of puff pastry
Honey (for spreading)
1
egg yolk
2
tablespoons of milk
Instructions
Prepare the Walnuts:
Grate half of the
walnuts
and chop the other half finely. Set aside.
Prepare the Fruit:
Cut the
plums
and
peaches
(or other fruit) into smaller pieces. Set aside.
Prepare the Puff Pastry:
Roll out the
sheet of puff pastry
and cut it into
8 equal pieces
.
Prepare the Baking Tray:
Line a baking tray with
baking paper
.
Spread
honey
on the baking paper.
Assemble the Pastries:
Place the
fruit
on top of the honey in the tray and seal the fruit with the puff pastry dough.
Prepare the Egg Wash:
In a bowl, mix the
egg yolk
and
2 tablespoons of milk
.
Brush this mixture over the puff pastry.
Bake:
Preheat the oven to
200°C (392°F)
and bake the pastries for
20 minutes
or until golden brown.
