Ingredients
Puff pastry (ready-made)
Cheese squares (I used mozzarella and cheddar)
Cooked chicken ham (or any other ham/salami, or just cheese for a vegetarian version)
1 egg yolk
3 of milk
Poppy seeds, sesame seeds, or salt for topping (optional)
Instructions
1
Prepare the Puff Pastry:
Take the puff pastry and cut it into triangles (first into halves, then quarters).
2
Assemble the Croissants:
Place a cheese square (mozzarella and cheddar) on each triangle of puff pastry.
Add a slice of ham (or skip this for a vegetarian option).
Roll the puff pastry into mini croissants or crescent shapes.
3
Egg Wash:
In a bowl, mix 1 egg yolk with 2-3 tablespoons of milk. Whisk well.
Brush the croissants with the egg wash mixture for a golden finish.
4
Add Toppings:
Sprinkle with poppy seeds, sesame seeds, or a pinch of salt if desired.
5
Bake the Croissants:
Place the croissants on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Bake at 200°C (392°F) for 10-12 minutes or until golden and crispy.
6
Serve:
Let them cool slightly and serve these delightful croissants at your gathering.
