Instructions
-
Prepare and Season the Chicken Wings
- Wash and clean the chicken wings thoroughly.
- Season the wings with salt, black pepper, sweet paprika, and a little olive oil.
- Fry the wings in a hot pan, turning them until golden brown on both sides. Remove them from the pan and set them aside.
-
Prepare the Garlic Sauce
- Grate 2 garlic cloves and place them in a large bowl.
- Add a pinch of salt and mash the garlic with a teaspoon (or use a pestle and mortar if available).
- Add 3 tablespoons sour cream to the mashed garlic and mix well. Set the sauce aside for later.
-
Make the Onion Sauce
- Chop 3 large onions and finely chop the remaining 3 garlic cloves.
- In the same pan where you fried the wings, add the chopped onions and garlic.
- Add a bay leaf, 1 tablespoon tomato paste (or broth), and 1 cup of water.
- Season with salt to taste and stir everything together.
- Cover the pan with a lid and simmer on low heat for 10-15 minutes, letting the onions cook down into a flavorful sauce.
-
Combine and Serve
- Return the fried chicken wings to the pan with the onion sauce, stirring to coat the wings in the sauce.
- Let the wings simmer in the sauce for a few minutes until heated through and the flavors combine.
- Serve the wings with the prepared garlic sauce and drizzle with hot sauce (optional) for an extra kick.
