Golden crispy chicken schnitzels simmered in a rich and creamy garlic sauce with onion and ginger. Served alongside baked potatoes and mushrooms, this comforting dinner is full of flavor and perfect for the whole family.
Ingredients
For the Chicken Schnitzel
3 large chicken breasts
5tbsp flour
Salt
Black pepper
Sweet paprika
2 large eggs
Butter (for frying)
For the Creamy Sauce
A little oil
1 onion, finely chopped
4 garlic cloves, minced
A small piece of fresh ginger, grated (or ginger powder)
2 sour cream or cooking cream
1 glass chicken broth
1tbsp seasoned flour (leftover from coating the chicken)
Salt, to taste

Prepare the Chicken
Cut each chicken breast in half.
Pat the chicken dry if needed.

Prepare the Coating
In a bowl, combine:
Flour
Salt
Black pepper
Sweet paprika
Mix well.

Prepare the Egg Mixture
Crack the eggs into another bowl.
Add a little salt.
Beat well until combined.

Coat the Chicken
Take each piece of chicken and coat it:
First in the seasoned flour
Then in the beaten eggs
Again in the seasoned flour
Make sure each piece is evenly coated.

Fry the Schnitzels
Melt a little butter in a well-heated pan.
Fry the chicken over medium heat until golden brown on both sides.
Remove the chicken and set aside on a plate.

Prepare the Sauce Base
In the same pan, add a little oil.
Add:
Chopped onion
Garlic
Grated ginger
Pour in a little water.
Simmer until the onion becomes soft.

Finish the Creamy Sauce
Add the sour cream or cooking cream.
Pour in the chicken broth.
Sprinkle in 1 tbsp of the seasoned flour to thicken the sauce.
Season with salt to taste.

Simmer Everything Together
Return the chicken schnitzels to the pan.
Cover with the sauce.
Let everything simmer over low heat for about 20 minutes.
Serve hot with baked potatoes, mushrooms, rice, or fresh bread.
