  1. Prepare the bread

    • If your bread isn’t pre-sliced, cut it into slices (thin or thick, as you prefer).

    • Set aside.

  1. Make the egg mixture

    • In a large bowl, crack the eggs.

    • Season with salt, black pepper, and any optional spices you like.

    • Pour in the milk and whisk until well combined.

  1. Coat the bread

    • Dip each bread slice into the egg–milk mixture for just a few seconds (don’t oversoak).

    • Then coat one or both sides with grated cheddar cheese.

    • Optionally, place a slice of salami on top.

  1. Fry

    • Heat a small amount of oil in a pan.

    • Fry the coated bread slices on both sides until golden and crispy.

    • Avoid adding too much oil to prevent greasiness.

  1. Serve
