Beef Stroganoff with Mushrooms

Ingredients
  • 400 grams beef (dried with a napkin)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Black pepper (to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 300 grams champignon mushrooms (or your preferred mushrooms), cut into large pieces
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 7 cloves garlic (adjust to preference)
  • 3 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 500 milliliters water
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
  1. Prepare the Beef:
    1. Dry the beef with a napkin and season it with salt, black pepper, paprika, and flour.
    2. Mix the beef well to coat it evenly with the seasoning.
  2. Cook the Beef:
    1. Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
    2. Add the beef and fry it until browned on all sides, then remove it from the pan and set aside.
  3. Prepare the Vegetables:
    1. In the same pan, add onion and sauté it for a few minutes until softened.
    2. Add garlic and mushrooms, and sauté until the mushrooms are cooked through and browned.
  4. Make the Sauce:
    1. Add heavy cream and 500 ml water to the pan with the mushrooms and onions.
    2. Stir in tomato paste, and season with salt and black pepper.
    3. Return the cooked beef to the pan and let everything simmer together for 10–15 minutes, allowing the flavors to combine.
  5. Garnish and Serve:
    1. Garnish with fresh parsley.
    2. Serve the Beef Stroganoff with rice, mashed potatoes, or your preferred side.
