Three Glasses” Apple Semolina Cake | Prăjitură cu griș de mere „Trei pahare”

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Apples:

Wash, peel, and grate the apples using a large-hole grater. Set aside.

  1. Mix the Dry Ingredients:

Using a 400 ml glass, measure:

    • 1 glass semolina

    • 1 glass flour

    • ½ glass sugar
Combine these in a large bowl and mix well with a spoon. Then divide the mixture into 3 equal parts (you can re-use the glass to portion it).

  1. Prepare the Baking Tin:

Use a round baking tin, approximately 25 cm in diameter. Grease it well with a little butter.

  1. Assemble the Cake:

    • Start with a layer of the dry mixture.

    • Add a third of the grated apples evenly on top.

    • Sprinkle some chopped walnuts, cinnamon (if using), and a few small bits of butter.

    • Repeat the layers: dry mix → apples → nuts → butter — until all ingredients are used.

    • The final layer should be grated apples.

  1. Bake:

Place the cake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F). Bake for approximately 50 minutes or until the top turns lightly golden and crispy.

  1. To Serve:

Let the cake cool before slicing. Serve plain or dusted with powdered sugar.
