Zucchini and Chicken Savory Tart | Tartă sărată cu dovlecei și pui Tartă sărată cu dovlecei și pui
A creamy, cheesy oven-baked tart that’s perfect for lunch or dinner.
Ingredients

medium zucchini
(washed and sliced thinly)
3
large
eggs
(plus 2 extra for topping)
1
cup
cooking cream
(or heavy cream)
3
chicken
breasts
(cut into small, even pieces)
2
sprigs
green onion
(finely chopped)
1
sprig
cheddar cheese
(about 100 g)
A few cherry tomatoes
(or sliced regular tomato, for topping)
Salt and black pepper
(to taste)
Oregano
(optional, for seasoning)
Olive oil
(for greasing the pan)
Instructions

Prepare the zucchini:
Wash and slice the zucchini into thin rounds.
Season with a little salt and black pepper, then set aside.
Drain the zucchini after a few minutes (they will release water).

Prepare the filling:
In a large bowl, beat 3 eggs.
Add cooking cream, salt, black pepper, and oregano (if using).
Cut chicken breasts into small, even pieces and add them to the egg mixture.
Finely chop green onion and stir it into the mixture.
Add grated cheddar cheese and mix everything well. Set aside.

Assemble the tart:
Grease an oven-safe pan or baking dish with a little oil.
Arrange the drained zucchini slices in the bottom of the pan.
Sprinkle with a little pepper.
Pour the chicken-egg-cheese mixture over the zucchini.

Bake:
Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F).
Bake until the top is golden brown and the chicken is cooked through.

Add topping and finish baking:
Beat 2 more eggs and mix in more grated cheddar cheese.
Add sliced tomatoes on top.
Pour the egg-cheese mixture over the tart.
Return to the oven and bake until the cheese melts and the topping sets.

Serve:
Let the tart cool slightly before slicing.
Serve warm, paired with a fresh salad or crusty bread.
