For the Dough:
- 250 grams flour
- 120 grams butter (cold)
- A pinch of salt
- 1 egg
- 120 grams Greek yogurt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
For the Walnut Filling:
- 250 grams walnuts (chopped)
- 100 grams flour
- 100 grams sugar
- 80 grams cold butter
For Decoration:
- 1 egg (beaten, for brushing)
- Prepare the Dough
- In a large bowl, mix 250 g of flour, 120 g of cold butter, and a pinch of salt.
- Add 1 egg, 120 g of Greek yogurt, and 1 teaspoon of baking powder.
- Mix everything well until it forms a dough.
- Refrigerate the dough while preparing the filling.
- Prepare the Walnut Filling
- Take 250 g of walnuts and chop them finely using a food processor (or grate them if you don’t have a processor).
- In a separate bowl, mix 100 g of flour, 100 g of sugar, and 80 g of cold butter until the mixture reaches a sandy texture.
- Add the ground walnuts to the mixture and stir well to combine.
- Assemble the Biscuits
- Roll out the dough as thin as possible.
- Spread the walnut filling evenly over the dough.
- Carefully roll the dough into a log shape with the help of your hands.
- Flatten the rolled dough into a rectangular shape.
- Bake the Biscuits
- Brush the top of the dough with the beaten egg.
- Cut the dough into biscuit shapes (either rectangles or other shapes of your choice).
- Place the biscuits on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C until they are golden brown (about 20-25 minutes).
