In a large bowl, beat the eggs. Add a pinch of salt, sugar, vanilla extract, cream cheese, lemon peel, and melted butter. Mix until well combined.
3 Gradually add the flour and baking powder to the wet ingredients, mixing until smooth.
4 Grease a baking tray with butter and pour one-third of the batter into it.
5 Mix the remaining batter with one-third of the walnut mixture and 60ml of milk until well combined. Pour this mixture into the tray.
6 Arrange the apple slices on top of the batter in the tray
7 Sprinkle the remaining walnut mixture and a little cinnamon over the apples.
8 Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius and bake the cake for 45-50 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
