Smoky Meat and Radish Soup A Hearty, Flavorful Delight | Ciorbă de carne afumată și ridichi
Ingredients
A piece of smoked kaiser, cut into thin slices
2
tablespoons of butter
2
onions, finely chopped
2
celery stalks, cubed
1
red pepper (or any preferred type), cubed
A few tomatoes, chopped
1
carrot, grated
2-3
liters of water
New potatoes
Salt
1
turnip, chopped
Lovage
Parsley
1
cup of borscht
Instructions
Preparing the Meat:
Cut the smoked kaiser into thin slices and then into cubes.
In a large pot, add 2 tablespoons of butter and the kaiser.
Fry until it gets color.
Preparing the Vegetables:
Finely chop 2 onions.
chop 2 celery stalks.
chop 1 red pepper (or any preferred type).
Chop the tomatoes into smaller pieces.
Grate a carrot for color.
Cooking the Vegetables:
When the kaiser gets color, add the onion, carrot, celery, red pepper, and tomatoes to the pot.
Fry for 2-3 minutes or until they start to get color.
Adding Water and Potatoes:
Pour 2-3 liters of water into the pot.
Add new potatoes and season with salt.
Let everything boil.
Adding Greens:
Pick a turnip, lovage, and plenty of parsley from the garden.
At the end, add a cup of borscht and let it boil.
Finishing:
Add the turnip, lovage, and parsley to the soup.
