First Rise:
Grease a bowl with olive oil and place the dough inside. Cover it with a kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour, or until doubled in size.
5 Divide and Shape:
-
- After the dough has risen, divide it into 14 equal-sized pieces. Shape each piece into a ball.
- Roll out each ball into a rectangular shape using a rolling pin. Roll the dough into a tight spiral, similar to a cinnamon roll, and seal the edges tightly.
6 Form the Loaves:
-
- Place four rolls together, sealed edges down, and fold them over each other to form a loaf. Repeat with the remaining dough pieces.
7 Second Rise:
-
- Transfer the shaped loaves onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Cover with a kitchen towel and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
8 Preheat the Oven:
-
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit).
9 Egg Wash and Garnish:
-
- In a small bowl, whisk together an egg yolk and a tablespoon of milk. Brush the tops of the loaves with the egg wash.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds over the loaves for garnish.
10 Bake:
-
- Place the baking tray in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown on top and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
11 Cool and Serve:
-
- Once baked, transfer the bread to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
- Enjoy your homemade fluffy bread with your favorite spreads or as a side to your favorite dishes.
