A comforting and easy pilaf made with tender meat, onions, and rice — perfect for a quick family dinner when time is short and everyone is hungry.
Marinate the meat lightly with a little oil.
Heat a pot with oil and add the meat.
Turn it on all sides until lightly browned.
The meat does not need to be fully cooked at this stage.
Remove it from the pot and set aside.
In the same pot, add the chopped onion.
Sauté for about 2 minutes until soft.
Add the garlic and cook together with the onion for extra flavor.
Add the carrot and sauté briefly for color and sweetness.
Add the washed rice to the pot.
Pour in 4 cups of cold water or stock.
Season with salt to taste.
Stir gently to combine.
