A quick and tasty snack made with leftover ingredients, crispy on the outside and fluffy inside — perfect when you’re on the go!

Ingredients
  • 2 large eggs
  • 200-250 milliliters milk (about 1 cup)
  • ½ red bell pepper, washed and diced
  • A few slices of salami, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons grated cheddar cheese (or any cheese you prefer)
  • 2 tablespoons grated cheese (additional for flavor)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • About 400 grams flour (adjust as needed)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Optional: other seasonings or olives
  • Oil for frying
  • Flour for dusting the work surface
Instructions
  1. Prepare the Batter:
      • In a large bowl, break 2 eggs and add a pinch of salt (and other condiments if desired). Stir until salt dissolves.
      • Pour in the milk and mix well.
      • Add the chopped salami, diced red pepper, grated cheddar cheese, and grated cheese.
  2. Add Dry Ingredients:
      • Mix in the baking powder.
      • Gradually incorporate the flour, about 400 grams or as much as needed, until you get a slightly sticky dough that can be shaped.
  3. Rest the Dough:
      • Cover and let the dough rest for 10–15 minutes.
  4. Shape the Flatbreads:
      • Sprinkle flour on your work surface.
      • Divide the dough into two parts.
      • Using a rolling pin, roll each piece into a rectangular shape. (You can use a little oil instead of flour if you prefer.)
  5. Cook:
      • Heat oil in a pan.
      • Place each flatbread in the hot oil and fry until golden brown on one side, then flip and fry the other side.
  6. Serve:
      • Serve warm as a snack or quick meal.
