Instructions
Prepare the Potatoes:
Peel and cut 600 grams of potatoes into smaller pieces.
Place them in a large saucepan, cover with water, add salt, and let them boil until soft.
Prepare the Breadcrumb Coating:
Melt 60 grams of butter in a pan, being careful not to burn it.
Add 150 grams of breadcrumbs and brown them slightly until they change color, stirring continuously.
Add 50 grams of sugar, cinnamon, and ginger. Mix well and let it cool on a plate.
Prepare the Plums:
Remove the seeds from 12 plums.
Prepare the Dough:
Once the potatoes are soft, drain them and let them cool.
Mash or grate the potatoes.
Add 1 egg, 170 grams of flour, 40 grams of semolina, vanilla, and a little salt to the potatoes. Mix everything well to form a very soft dough.
Wet your palms with water to handle the dough easily.
Form the Dumplings:
Flatten a small portion of dough with your fingers, place a plum inside, and form a dumpling (gomboți).
Repeat until all plums are used.
Cook the Dumplings:
Boil the dumplings in salted water until they rise to the surface.
Remove and roll them in the breadcrumb mixture.
