Ingredients
  • 360 grams sugar
  • 570 milliliters water
  • 170 milliliters oil
  • Vanilla essence
  • Orange zest
  • 450 grams flour
  • 3 tablespoons cacao (heaped)
  • 0.5 teaspoons salt
  • Chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
  1. In a well-heated pan, caramelize the sugar until it reaches a dark golden color. Be careful not to burn it.
  2. Add cold water and turn off the heat. Let it cool until the syrup forms.
  3. Pour the lukewarm syrup into a large bowl, add the vanilla essence, oil, orange zest, baking powder, salt, and mix well.
  4. Gradually incorporate the sifted flour and cocoa. Try not to overmix.
  5. Pour the mixture into a baking tray lined with parchment paper. You can sprinkle chopped nuts on top if desired.
  6. Place the tray in the preheated oven at 160 degrees Celsius for 25-30 minutes or until the toothpick test comes out clean.
  7. After baking, allow the cake to cool in the tray before cutting it
  8. Serve with pleasure and enjoy your meal!
