Mini Pizza Rolls Recipe

Ingredients
    Main Ingredients:
  • A few slices of salami, diced
  • 2 sheets of puff pastry
  • Tomato paste or ketchup
  • 100 grams mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • For Glaze:
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon of milk
  • Optional Toppings:
  • Poppy seeds
  • Sesame seeds
  • Salt (if seeds are not available)
Instructions
  1. Prepare the Salami:
    • Dice a few slices of salami into small cubes.
  2. Prepare the Puff Pastry:
    • Spread the first sheet of puff pastry on the countertop.
  3. Add Tomato Paste:
    • Spread a layer of tomato paste over the puff pastry using a knife. You can also use ketchup if preferred.
  4. Add Cheese and Salami:
    • Sprinkle about 100 grams of shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the tomato paste.
    • Add the diced salami cubes on top of the cheese.
  5. Cover with Second Pastry Sheet:

    Place the second sheet of puff pastry on top and press down to flatten it.

  6. Cut into Strips:
    • Cut the layered pastry into 1 cm wide strips.
  7. Stack and Roll:
    • Take two strips at a time, stack them on top of each other, and roll them up.
  8. Flatten the Rolls:
    • Use a rolling pin or a small stick to flatten each roll slightly.
  9. Prepare the Egg Wash:
    • In a bowl, mix 1 egg yolk with 2 tablespoons of milk.
    • Brush the tops of the rolls with this mixture.
  10. Add Toppings:
    • Sprinkle poppy seeds and sesame seeds on top of the rolls. If you don't have seeds, sprinkle a bit of salt.
  11. Bake:
    • Place the rolls on a baking tray and put them in a preheated oven at 200 degrees Celsius.
    • Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  12. Serve and Enjoy:
    • Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
