- 100 g Kaiser (smoked pork belly) or sunflower oil
- 400 g beef meat
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 2 bay leaves
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 cup water (plus extra as needed)
- 2 bell peppers, finely chopped
- 1 medium carrot, diced
- 1 small or 2 medium tomatoes, diced
- 7 potatoes, cut into large pieces

Prepare the base:

- In a large pot, heat the Kaiser or oil over medium heat.
- Fry the Kaiser slices until they get a little color, then remove and set aside.

Cook the beef:

- Add the beef to the pot and brown it.
- Once the meat changes color, add the chopped onions and garlic.
- Sauté with the lid on for about 5 minutes.

Simmer the meat:

- Add bay leaves, salt, pepper, and a cup of water.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer covered for about 1 hour, adding more water if necessary.

Add vegetables:

- After the meat is tender, remove bay leaves.
- Add chopped bell peppers, carrot, tomatoes, potatoes, chili powder, and paprika.
- Pour in enough water to cover the vegetables.

- Simmer everything together for about 40 minutes until potatoes and vegetables are cooked through.
