Fried Fish with Cornmeal and Garlic Cream Sauce
Ingredients
For the Fish:
Frozen or fresh fish (as desired)
Cornmeal (about 1.5 cups, or more depending on your preference)
Salt (to taste)
Oil (for frying)
For the Garlic Sauce:
3
cloves garlic (grated)
Salt (to taste)
1
tsp
oil
Thick cream (amount as desired)
Fresh dill (for garnish)
Instructions
1
Prepare the Cornmeal Coating:
On a large plate, place
1.5 cups cornmeal
(more if needed).
Add
salt
and mix well to season the cornmeal.
2
Prepare the Fish:
If using
frozen fish
, let it defrost for
2-3 minutes
or soak it briefly in water. This helps the cornmeal adhere better.
Coat the fish in the seasoned cornmeal.
3
Fry the Fish:
Heat some
oil
in a pan over medium heat.
Fry the coated fish until golden and crispy on both sides, about
4-5 minutes per side
.
Once fried, place the fish on a
dry napkin
to remove excess oil.
4
Prepare the Garlic Sauce:
Grate
3 cloves of garlic
and place them in a bowl.
Add
salt
,
1 teaspoon oil
, and mix well.
Stir in the
thick cream
to create a creamy garlic sauce.
Add fresh
dill
for flavor and garnish.
5
Serve:
Serve the fried fish with the
garlic cream sauce
on the side.
Enjoy with
mamaliga
(polenta) or as a standalone dish.
Tip: For added flavor, you can also sprinkle some fresh dill over the fish before serving.
