3 small green peppers (chopped into cubes, or use peppers of your choice)
1 red bell pepper (chopped into small pieces)
100 grams cheddar cheese (grated, or you can use mozzarella)
Salami (chopped into cubes, or use sausages or any available deli meat)
Olives (optional, to taste)
For the egg wash:
2 egg yolks (depending on size)
2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
Prepare the dough:
In a large bowl, combine 100 ml water, 100 ml hot milk, 60 ml olive oil, and 10 g dry yeast. Mix well.
Add 420 g bread flour and 1 teaspoon salt to the bowl. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it is smooth and no longer sticky.
Cover the dough and let it rise for about 1 hour until it has doubled in size.
Prepare the filling:
Chop 3 green peppers and 1 red bell pepper into small cubes.
Grate 100 g cheddar cheese or use mozzarella.
Chop salami (or any available deli meat) into cubes. You can also add olives to taste.
Shape the buns:
Once the dough has risen, place it on the work surface and cut it in half to make it easier to handle.
Roll each half into a rectangular shape using a rolling pin.
Sprinkle the dough with cheese, green peppers, red peppers, salami, and any other fillings you have.
Roll the dough tightly like a log and seal the ends.
Cut the rolled dough into 2 cm wide slices.
Prepare the buns for baking:
Place the sliced buns on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Press each piece lightly with your palm to ensure the filling stays in place.
Cover with plastic wrap and let them rise for another 20 minutes.
Egg wash:
In a small bowl, whisk together 1-2 egg yolks and 2 tablespoons milk.
Brush the egg mixture over the buns.
Bake:
Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F).
Bake the buns for 15-20 minutes or until they are golden brown on top.
Serve:
Once baked, remove the buns from the oven, let them cool slightly, and enjoy!
