Zest of one lemon

Butter (for greasing of the pan)

of sugar (in the pan)
squeze Half of lemon
Instructions

Preparing the Cherries:
Clean and wash 500 grams of cherries.
Remove the seeds
Add 1 tablespoon of sugar to the cherries and set aside.

Making the Batter:
In a large bowl, break 5 eggs.
Measure 1 cup of sugar and add it to the eggs.
Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 2 teaspoons of vanilla essence.
Mix until the sugar dissolves.
Add 1 cup of Greek yogurt and mix well.
Add 1 cup of sunflower oil and incorporate with a whisk.
Grate the zest of one lemon and add it to the mixture.
Add 2 cups of flour and 1 teaspoon of baking powder, mixing gently to avoid lumps

Preparing the Pan:
Grease a pan with butter and sprinkle 1 tablespoon of sugar.
Squeeze the juice of half a lemon over the cherries and place them at the bottom of the pan.

Assembling the Cake:
Pour three-quarters of the batter over the cherries.
Add 1 tablespoon of cocoa to the remaining batter and mix well.
Pour the cocoa batter over the batter in the pan.

Baking:
Preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius.
Bake the cake until it passes the toothpick test.
