Ingredients
  • 300 grams strawberries
  • 5 large eggs (or 6 smaller eggs)
  • 1 cup sugar (amount can vary to taste)
  • Vanilla essence
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1.5 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 cups flour
  • Soft butter (for greasing the pan)
  • 2 teaspoons semolina
Instructions
  1. Preparing the Strawberries:
    • Wash 300 g of strawberries well.
    • Remove the green parts and cut the strawberries into quarters.
  2. Preparing the Mixture:
    • In a large bowl, break 5 large eggs. If the eggs are smaller, add one more.
    • Measure a cup of sugar with a standard medium-sized cup. Add the sugar to the eggs.
    • Add vanilla essence and a pinch of salt. Mix well until the sugar is dissolved.
    • Measure a cup of oil with the same cup and pour it over the egg mixture. Incorporate well.
    • Add a cup of Greek yogurt and 1 ½ teaspoons of baking powder. Mix well.
    • Measure 2 cups of flour and add them to the mixture. Mix well with a whisk.
  3. Preparing the Pan:
    • In an oven-safe pan, put a little soft butter and spread it over the entire surface.
    • Sprinkle 2 teaspoons of semolina in the pan for crispy edges.
  4. Assembling the Cake:
    • Add the quartered strawberries to the pan.
    • Pour the mixture over the strawberries.
    • Place the pan in the preheated oven at 170 degrees Celsius and bake until it passes the toothpick test.
