Easy Cake with Vanilla and Cocoa Layers | Tort ușor cu straturi de vanilie și cacao
Ingredients
4 large eggs (L-sized)
12 tablespoons of sugar (grated)
12 tablespoons of oil
12 tablespoons of milk
1 tablespoon of vanilla essence
12 tablespoons of flour (cake flour preferred)
1/2 tablespoon of baking powder
1 tablespoon of cocoa powder (sifted)
2 tablespoons of milk (for cocoa mixture)
Instructions
Prepare the Cake Batter
Preheat your oven to 165°C (330°F) and grease a resistant baking tray with a little oil.
In a large bowl, break the 4 eggs and add 12 tablespoons of grated sugar. Mix everything well until the sugar melts completely.
Add 12 tablespoons of oil, 12 tablespoons of milk, and 1 tablespoon of vanilla essence to the egg mixture. Mix thoroughly.
Gradually add 12 tablespoons of cake flour and 1/2 tablespoon of baking powder. Stir everything together until the mixture is smooth. The batter should be thick but not too liquid. If the batter is too thin, add a little more flour to adjust the consistency.
Prepare the Cocoa Mixture
In a small bowl, sift 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder and mix it with 2 tablespoons of milk to form a smooth cocoa paste.
Layer the Cake
Divide the prepared cake batter into two portions.
In the baking tray, pour the first portion of the batter.
Add 1 tablespoon of vanilla essence to the second portion and pour it over the first layer.
Then, add 1 tablespoon of the cocoa mixture and alternate the layers with the vanilla and cocoa batters. Continue layering until all the batter and cocoa mixture is used up.
Bake the Cake
Place the cake in the preheated oven at 165°C (330°F) and bake for about 30-40 minutes.
To check if the cake is done, insert a toothpick into the center. If it comes out clean, the cake is ready.
Cool and Serve
Allow the cake to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
