Easy Apple Cake – Simple and Delicious Recipe | Prajitura cu mere

grams grated apples (about 4-5 apples)

tablespoon cinnamon (optional, if allergic, omit)
Juice of half a lemon

A pinch of salt

grams sugar (adjust to taste)

milliliters milk

teaspoon baking powder

teaspoon vanilla extract (optional: lemon or orange zest)
Butter (for greasing the tray)
Instructions
Prepare the apples:
Wash, peel, and grate the apples.
Measure 700 g of grated apples.
If the apples are sweet, no sugar is needed.
Add 1 tablespoon of cinnamon and the juice of half a lemon.
Set aside while preparing the sponge cake.
Prepare the cake batter:
In a large bowl, crack 4 large eggs.
Add a pinch of salt and 100 g of sugar (adjust to taste).
Mix well.
Pour in 200 ml of milk and 100 ml of oil, then mix again.
Add 1 teaspoon of baking powder and 300 g of flour.
Mix until smooth and lump-free.
Add vanilla extract, and optionally, lemon or orange zest.
Assemble the cake:
Grease a baking tray with butter.
Pour half of the batter into the tray.
Evenly distribute the grated apples over the batter.
Pour the remaining batter on top and smooth it with a spatula.
Bake the cake:
Preheat the oven to 160°C (320°F).
Bake until it passes the toothpick test (insert a toothpick into the cake; if it comes out clean, it's done).
