A creamy, chocolatey jelly dessert that melts in your mouth. Easy to prepare, no baking required, and perfect when you want a quick yet impressive sweet treat.
Pour the cold milk into a large bowl or pot.
Add the cocoa powder.
Add the sugar, adjusting the amount to your taste.
Mix well until smooth.
Place the milk mixture on the stove over medium heat.
Heat until it starts to boil gently.
Let it simmer for 1–2 minutes.
Place the gelatin in a separate bowl.
Add the cold water.
Mix well and let it hydrate for a few minutes.
Break the chocolate into small pieces.
Add it to the hot milk mixture.
Stir continuously until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
Remove the pot from the heat.
Let the mixture cool for about 5 minutes.
Wash and dry a milk carton or use a bowl or mold.
Lightly grease it with a little oil.
Add the hydrated gelatin to the warm (not hot) chocolate milk.
Stir well until the gelatin is completely dissolved.
Add the rum essence, if using.
