For the Cake:
- 50 grams butter
- 50 grams honey
- 100 grams sugar
- 250 milliliters milk
- 2 egg yolks
- 400 grams flour (divided into two portions)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 50 grams walnuts (chopped)
- 40 grams cocoa powder (sifted)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
For the Vanilla Glaze:
- 1 egg white
- 100 grams powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- Prepare the Cake Batter
- In a well-heated pan, melt the butter.
- Add honey, sugar, and milk to the pan. Stir well until the sugar melts.
- Add egg yolks and mix everything together until smooth.
- Transfer the liquid mixture to a large bowl.
- Gradually add half of the flour and mix quickly to avoid lumps.
- Stir in the cinnamon, ginger, and walnuts.
- Sift in the cocoa powder, baking powder, and the remaining flour. Mix until smooth.
- Bake the Cake
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Pour the batter into a prepared tray and bake for 15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Make the Glaze
- In a bowl, whisk together egg white, powdered sugar, and vanilla essence until smooth.
- Finish the Cake
- Once the cake is baked, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly.
- Spread the vanilla glaze over the top of the cake.
