Chicken Breast with Red Sauce and Mashed Potatoes
Ingredients
For the chicken:

pieces of chicken breast, cut in half
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
Oregano, to taste
Sweet paprika, to taste
Garlic powder, to taste
Turmeric, a pinch
Hot pepper (optional), to taste

of olive oil (for seasoning)
Oil (for frying)

small onion, chopped
1
can
of tomatoes (in its own juice)
Bay leaf
Salt and black pepper, to taste
½
cup of water
For the mashed potatoes:
4
medium-sized potatoes
1
tbsp
of cream cheese
Salt and pepper, to taste
Chives, finely chopped (or green onion)
A little milk (to desired consistency)
Instructions

Prepare the chicken:
Cut the
chicken breasts
into halves.
Season with
salt, black pepper, oregano, sweet paprika, garlic powder, turmeric
, and
olive oil
. Mix well to coat evenly.

Cook the chicken:
Heat
oil
in a pan over medium heat.
Fry the seasoned chicken breasts until golden brown. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Prepare the sauce:
In the same pan, add the chopped
onion
and sauté until softened.
Add the
can of tomatoes
,
salt
,
black pepper
,
garlic powder
, and a
bay leaf
.
Add
½ cup of water
and bring to a simmer. Let the sauce cook for about
10 minutes

Finish the sauce and chicken:
Add the cooked chicken breasts to the sauce and let everything simmer for another
10 minutes

Prepare the mashed potatoes:
Peel and boil the
potatoes
in salted water until soft.
Mash the potatoes with a fork or potato masher.

cream cheese
