Chicken and Mushroom Stew: Easy, Saucy, and Delicious | Tocană de Pui cu Ciuperci: Simplă, Suculentă și Delicioasă

Ingredients
  • 2 pieces of chicken breast, cut into pieces (you can use pork or beef if preferred)
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Sweet paprika
  • Oregano
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • Oil for frying
  • 1 medium-sized onion, finely chopped
  • 300 grams of mushrooms, sliced (not too thick, not too thin)
  • 1 cup of tomato sauce
  • 100 milliliters cooking cream
  • 1 sprig of thyme
  • 400 milliliters chicken broth
Instructions
  1. Preparing the Meat:
    • Cut the chicken breast into pieces.
    • Season the meat with salt, black pepper, sweet paprika, oregano, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, and lemon juice.
    • Mix well. You can add other spices if preferred.
  2. Cooking the Meat:
    • In a well-heated pan, add a little oil and fry the meat until cooked through.
  3. Preparing the Vegetables:
    • Finely chop the onion.
    • Slice the mushrooms (not too thick, not too thin).
  4. Cooking the Vegetables:
    • When the meat is ready, add the onion to the pan and sauté for about 2 minutes.
    • Add the mushrooms and cook until they reduce in volume.
  5. Making the Sauce:
    • Add 1 cup of tomato sauce, 100 ml of cooking cream, a sprig of thyme, and 400 ml of chicken broth to the pan.
    • Let everything simmer for about 10 minutes or until the sauce thickens.
  6. Serving:
