A delicious way to use up old bread — crispy on the outside, soft inside, and loaded with cheesy flavor.
If your bread isn’t pre-sliced, cut it into slices (thin or thick, as you prefer).
Set aside.
In a large bowl, crack the eggs.
Season with salt, black pepper, and any optional spices you like.
Pour in the milk and whisk until well combined.
Dip each bread slice into the egg–milk mixture for just a few seconds (don’t oversoak).
Then coat one or both sides with grated cheddar cheese.
Optionally, place a slice of salami on top.
